The sink is stacked high with dirty dishes only overshadowed by heaped piles of the unfolded laundry in a chair waiting to be ironed? Children’s toys spread around, old toys they don’t even play with, small parts of board games, if you look hard enough you will find the silver boot from monopoly that you were looking for!!

If possible, send the kids to the house of a friend or family member so that you can work in peace and without interruption. Interruption is another excuse for leaving it until another day. Give yourself plenty of time, you will find it much more fulfilling if you have the time to do it properly. Put some fast upbeat music on to cheer you up as you work, it will take the edge off. It works great for me, I turn it up real loud. But don’t upset your neighbours.
Ok you need to decide where to start and what to clear first, compile a list prioritize it from most to least. Where is the most clutter? Where is the least? This will help give you an idea about what you need to focus on first. It is better to start with the job you have been dreading the most, once that is out of the way you will begin to feel like you are achieving something. Before you know it, you’ll have cleared much of your clutter, you just need to put your mind to it and stay on task.
After you’re done with your list, take out everything. Place items no longer desired or needed into large bins for later sale, donation, or trash. Sort out your recycling, don’t forget to shred things with private information on like bank statement ect. Next, gather all your cleaning materials. Once the area is clear of items, sweep or vacuum the floor, dust the cabinets or shelving, use glass cleaner on any mirrors or glass surfaces. Diluted white vinegar ( 1 part vinegar 4 parts water) is great for using on windows and mirrors.
