Introduce all natural foods and beverages into your diet…
Natural foods and drinks are very important to include in your diet because not only will they help with fat loss, they also help with enhancing your overall health (digestive system, heart health, cholesterol levels, blood sugar levels, and more). Now, when I say natural foods and drinks, I’m referring to raw foods, organic, grass-fed, and basically anything unprocessed. This doesn’t mean those low-calorie, zero-calorie, low-fat, “diet”, etc. types of foods and drinks that you find at your local grocer. In fact, I recommend that you be extremely careful with eating said foods given that most of them are processed and are made with preservatives.
Eat the foods that actually burn fat…
Yes, there are actually foods you can eat that will boost your metabolism and help with burning off fat. Some of the best foods to eat are foods that contain healthy fat, plenty of protein, antioxidants, and are also high in vitamins and minerals. Examples of these types of foods are berries, lean white meat (turkey, chicken, fish), and whole grains (quinoa, lentils, apples, dark green veggies).
As far as drinks are concerned, of course drinking plenty of water would be the first recommendation. Other things I recommend you drink are green tea, organic apple cider vinegar (mix one tablespoon into 8 ounces of water), whey protein shakes (which is optional), and a natural fruit drink that you can make using a juicing machine.
Avoid the 6 most common things that slow the metabolism down…
If you skip breakfast, if you eat too many calories at once, if you don’t get enough sleep, if you are not active or if you don’t exercise at least 3 times a week, if you go on fad diets, and/or if you take dangerous diet pills, then you run the risk of significantly lowering your metabolism.
Pay close attention to HOW you are eating as well…
When you are trying to shed inches off your belly and lose weight, it goes beyond just WHAT it is you are eating, it is also important to focus on HOW you are eating as well. The best advice I can give you (and this has been proven time and time again by the way) is to eat smaller portions of food multiple times a day.
Overloading your plate and chowing down several calories at once will slow your metabolism down (as mentioned above). On the other hand, if you eat very small portions (5-6 times a day), you will keep your metabolism active and you will allow your body to comfortably digest and process the foods you are eating. Also, another related point to give here is to avoid eating too late at night (within 3 hours before going to bed). The reason why is because when you sleep, your metabolism decreases. Your metabolism processes food. So, what do you think happens with the food you have eaten right before bed? That’s right, it’s not being processed… it’s being stored!
Now, as far as eating smaller meals is concerned, right away you may assume that you are going to be starving yourself… and this is certainly not the case. You are NOT starving yourself. The reason being is because you are eating more often during the day (such as every 2-3 hours). Trust me, this dieting technique works VERY well, and it has been one of the biggest things that has helped me lose several pounds of fat quickly.

Let’s face it, if you’re not motivated, it’s going to be pretty difficult trying to lose weight. So what should you do?
Well, what worked for me are three things…
The first thing is to come to the realization of WHY I so desperately wanted my stomach fat and total body fat gone. And for me, it was because I was tired of my clothes fitting awkwardly, I didn’t want to develop diseases later on in life (since my family has a long history of diabetes, etc.), I wanted to feel better about myself, and I wanted to live a long life and see my kids grow up and write articles for a living just like daddy… lol. Seriously though, once I came to the realization of WHY I wanted to achieve these goals, I found it much more motivating to stick to the diet program I chose to go on.
The second thing was staying 100% consistent, no matter what. If I didn’t see or feel results one day, I kept going… period. So, whatever you do, DO NOT GIVE UP! Trust me on this, the results will come, just as long as you are following the core principles of healthy living and you are not on some type of fad diet.
And that leads me to the third thing that helped me stay motivated… and that was I stopped messing around with fad diets! Fad diets (which is basically any diet that forces you to restrict nutrients and/or calories) will do nothing for you except decrease your metabolism, your overall health, and your money! I chose to go on a simple diet that was easy to follow, it was based around natural methods, and I did not do any serious restrictions that would have caused me to lose motivation and damage my health.
