Acne Scars Treatment
Do your acne scars bother you? Are they always noticed? Thanks to the power of science and invention there are now more options available to get rid of those unwanted scars fast and easy. Acne cure treatment comes in different forms and different types. In the end however, it will still be your choice of acne scar skin care treatment that will prevail.
Here are some suggestions that you may want to consider:
• Topical ointments. Your dermatologist may recommend the use of topical creams as a means of getting rid of your acne scars. These creams work to prevent the outbreak of acne.
• Laser Resurfacing. This kind of acne prone skin care procedure is recommended for people with adult cystic acne who suffered from severe scarring. This is done by a dermatologist wherein the surface of the skin is numb using anesthetics. Using a laser, the uppermost surface of the skin is being removed. Although the procedure is easily administered, healing usually takes 1 to 2 weeks.
• Dermabrasion. A dermatologist scrapes the top layer of the skin using a spinning blade. The effect is similar to laser resurfacing but healing usually takes place within 2 to 3 weeks.
• Chemical peels. This is a much milder approach in getting rid of acne scars. Chemical peels are used. They are almost similar to exfoliating scrubs only the ingredients are harsher and more sophisticated. When chemical peels are applied, it works to remove the acne scarred layers of the skin. After a chemical peel, irritation may occur as a side effect. Sometimes, a collagen injection is also administered. Many claimed that such treatment is just as effective as the chemical peel.
• Microdermabrasion. In microdermabrasion, only the scarred portion of the skin is being removed. This kind of treatment can be done in less than an hour by a dermatologist. It heals faster too.
• Natural means. Worried about side effects? Try drinking a lot of lemon. This fruit aids in shedding your dead skin cells faster. On one hand, you can also try rubbing sliced raw tomatoes on your acne-scarred face. Tomatoes are believed to prevent the overproduction of sebum responsible in producing scars.
As an alternative to chemical based skin moisturizers, try applying rose-hip seed oil or olive oil in your face. They soften the skin making the scars less prominent. Above all, drink plenty of water to flush out the toxins that cause acne and scarring.
