The first is where the hypnotherapist seeks out the cause, often times through regression, and aims to change your perception of a past event or release emotion from it. The second way is to seek change in your behavior by changing the way you think, for example by encouraging you to have belief in yourself.
One of the issues with hypnosis for anxiety or panic stricken person is that they have to be able to relax in a hypnotherapist’s clinic. Often a person will not admit that it has not worked for several reasons due to the fear of looking foolish and might even pretend to be in a state of hypnosis.
Life today can be stressful. With the economy, real estate market, work, family, and relationships can contribute to the stress. While many people do not differentiate stress from anxiety, the distinction is important because the solutions are different.
The National Institutes of Health define stress as “can come from any situation or thought that makes you frustrated, angry, nervous or worried.” We all experience stress and that is normal and natural. Having too much can be unhealthy, but in most cases you are aware of what worries you, but when the situation becomes more positive you no longer have those stressful feelings.
In contrast, according to the NIH, “Anxiety is a feeling of apprehension or fear. You may not know the source of this uneasiness, which can add to the distress you feel. People with anxiety disorders have symptoms that cause them to have difficulties with daily activities and relationships.” This is often referred to as Generalized Anxiety Disorder or GAD because you feel anxious even when there is nothing specific happening that would be disturbing or scary to the average person. Unlike stress reactions, anxiety can get worse over time and will likely continue unless treated.
Hypnosis for anxiety does treat the subconscious. Usually your conscious mind can do nothing to cure your anxiety symptoms. Some people try to medicate the problem away with drugs or alcohol. These tend to have unhealthy side effects and do nothing to solve the problem. So, are you ready to on with your life with a calm feeling of security and confidence?
