Benefits of Renting While Travelling
If you are thinking of going on a road trip soon there are plenty of options you can choose from these days. RV’s have become a very popular option. The problem is that there are not too many people who know what an RV is. If you’re driving across the country you want to make sure that you are comfortable. Most people usually opt for SUV’s and vans when they are travelling with their. Most people are now turning to RV’s in Washington. Here are a few reasons why I prefer renting my own vehicle while travelling.
1. Freedom – Renting your own vehicle gives you the freedom to drive around and go where ever you want. You can see new places and drive to where you want, this way you can discover places you might find interesting. There are many places and spots which are not very popular which you might like. You can learn things about the local culture meet new people. You are not restricted by the schedule of a tour. If your travelling as a couple you can always find a spot you like and have a fun picnic. I feel that this is the best way to see Washington’s beautiful landscapes and the west coast’s scenic roads.
2. Schedule – When you hire your own vehicles you can do things at your own pace. You don’t have to be restricted by a tour’s schedule. You can wake up whenever you like if you partied too hard the previous night. You could even wake up early and leave for somewhere if you want to avoid traffic. You can stay at a certain place as long as you like, or leave a place you are not very fond of. You can make your own discoveries and find places which you find amusing. You can mix around with the locals and get a feel of the local culture.
3. Choosing the right vehicle – Its important you choose the right vehicle to travel in. You may choose from an SUV to sedan or a mini van. I strongly suggest you hire an RV. Some people tend to think the bigger the better but remember this is not always a wise decision. If you’re thinking of renting an RV remember that larger options consume more fuel and would be a little harder to get used to. These vehicles are relatively easy to drive but it takes some time to get a feel of the RV. It is also important that you don’t hire an RV that is too small as this can be a real nightmare. If you’re going on a road trip the last thing you want to be is uncomfortable. You need to have enough space to do your own thing. These vehicles come in a wide range of sizes and styles so do some research before you pick one.
4. Rental Agencies are very helpful – The agencies in Washington are very helpful and friendly. They are used to dealing with travelers from all across the states. They would give you the best advice on routes, restaurants and RV parks.
So if you’re planning on driving down to California or driving to Oregon do consider renting as an option.
