Las Vegas Happenings
Living in Las Vegas the past few years has been interesting. There are many interesting shows and the nightlife is great. When you live here it is not the same as being a tourist. Many tourist come here to gamble and go crazy for the week. When living here one can only party in moderation, but even then it gets old. I’ll go over the highlights of the places I’ve enjoyed the past two years.
Magic Shows I’ve been to:
Penn and Teller at Rio – Penn and Teller put on one of the best magic shows in Las Vegas. From Swallowing fire and Tellers tricky sleight of hand to catching bullets it’s an experience you will not forget.
Lance Burton at Monte Carlo – Unfortunately Lance didn’t re-sign his contract with the Monte Carlo. However, that is not going to stop me from telling you how great the show was (as will be if you catch it before the contract ends). Lance pulls doves out of nowhere. I’m not kidding. His sleight of hand is so tricky and surprising that it leaves you with a sense of wonder. I can’t spoil the main tricks, but I will say that for a magic show in vegas this is worth every penny.
Steve Wyrick at Planet Hollywood – I got free tickets to this show. I’ve seen Steve’s theatre in Planet Hollywood a thousand times and has never really thought about going. But, there I was with those free tickets. This show was OK. I’ll give it a 6 out of 10. Your kids will probably love this show but adults may laugh at it or find it not so satisfying.
Recommended Nightclubs:
Surrender at Encore – The night club surrounds the multiple pools which makes this (hands down) the best vibe and night club in Las Vegas. It’s extremely hard to put into words how beautiful this club is. The people at Wynn Resorts have a way of making everything very classy.
Tao at Venetian – Tao is my second favorite club in Vegas. It is two levels and has multiple rooms. As you walk through the club you will see go-go girls massaging each other in almost a ritualistic way. One room has house music which many people love. The main dance floor plays normal club music. The only downside to this club is sometimes you can feel claustrophobic.
XS at Wynn – As I said earlier, anything at the Wynn is very classy and is first class quality. XS is just like Surrender in quality and is also right by a huge pool. The scenery and imagery at the club is right out of the Steve Wynn playbook. Beautiful women are plentiful. Highly recommended for anyone staying in town
