Top Secured Credit Cards – Which One?
There are a lot of credit cards out there and when you start messing with the “bad” credit market, you’re going to find that there are a lot of scams that happen and go on without you even knowing it. While the secured card market can trick you sometimes, I wanted to give you some pointers on how you can find the top secured credit cards in your market. Since I’ve been working with them for quite some time now, you’re going to find that if you know what you’re doing, you will be able to find one that works for you.
Research the fees
The first thing that you will want to do is research the fees. Make sure that you’re not paying some crazy rate each and every month. A good card in my opinion is only going to have a fee that will be either a one time fee or an annual fee. The best case scenario is a card that will waive your first year fee. By the second year comes around, you should be able to get a better credit card.
A major logo
Always make sure that you card has a major logo from companies such as Visa, MasterCard, etc. These cards will be accepted just about everywhere. You don’t want to apply for a card and find out that it’s from Bob’s credit card service. Who is going to accept it?
Ask about credit building
Usually on the credit card application, you will be able to see if your card will report to the major credit bureaus. If your card doesn’t report, you will find out later that your card is pointless, since you will need it to report your spending habits. When it reports good behavior, this will in turn, raise your credit score over time.
Search for reviews
A bad card is going to get bad press. A good way to find out about what other people think about it is to simply search online. By searching, you should be able to find out what other people think. Keep in mind that no matter how good the card is, you will always find bad reviews for a company, so trust your gut with this one.
With that being said, I would recommend that you look into banks such as Public Savings, Orchard Bank, Capital One, and more. They all deal with cards that will help you with your credit, as well as not scam you to the hills.
