Sinusitis Cures
Sinus problems are very common, but fortunately there are a variety of sinusitis cures, from natural home remedies to medical treatments.
Sinusitis can be caused by a cold or a flu that has led to infection in the sinuses. It can also be caused by an allergic reaction to pollen in hay fever sufferers, or the sinuses can get irritated by chemicals in cleaning products, in the environment or in toiletries.

Sinusitis symptoms include congestion in the nasal passages, pain in the sinus area, headaches and pain in the front of the head and the cheeks, sore throat, fever, feeling faint and dizzy, and even toothache. Some sinusitis attacks go away after a few days or a week, but chronic sinus infections can be a serious health problem.
Many patients are prescribed antibiotics for the infection. It is important to finish the course of antibiotics, but at the same time you can use some home cures to give relief from the pain and the congestion.
There is a variety of nasal sprays on the market that can help with the congestion. These should usually be used for only a few days to aid with the worst pain, but then use should be discontinued.
An easy traditional home remedy for easing the pain and to help clear up the sinuses is steam inhalation. Even doctors often recommend this home cure. You need a bowl of steaming hot water, a large bath towel and to make it even more effective, some essential oils. Many natural health stores sell special sinus clearing aromatherapy blends, but some of the best essential oils you can use are Eucalyptus, Pine, Rosemary and Lavender. Add just a couple of drops of the oil into the steaming water, cover your head and the bowl with the large bath towel and inhale the steam and the essential oil vapors for several minutes (up to ten minutes if you can). This helps clear congestion in the sinuses, and the hot steam together with the oils also fights infections.
Drink a lot of fluids while suffering from a sinus infection. A good homemade drink is lemon, ginger and honey tea, made with a few slices of fresh ginger in hot water together with lemon juice and honey. This helps sore throats, too. Many natural therapists also recommend taking a lot of vitamin C and eating plenty of garlic as a natural cure for sinusitis.
