Existence has become more and more complex as stress has become an indispensable part of our lives. With dominance of technology and rapidly moving life, all individuals are involved in the rat race of money and thus overstrain and overwork themselves. Unhappiness, frustration and impatience have been embedded in the lives of all.
Every single person on this earth is familiar with stress. All of us experience it in varying degrees and forms every day. Stress can be beneficial in small doses as it helps to perform under pressure and motivates one to do his best. It is only when stress becomes great; it affects our mental and physical functioning. In simple terms, it can be said that stress can affect anything and everything like the productivity, health, mood, quality of life, all relations and all the lifestyle aspects.
Stress can simply cause widespread damage, but it differs from individual to individual. Some people crumble at the slightest frustration and obstacle while some can well handle the punches even. The ability to tolerate stress depends on various factors like the general perspective towards life, the quality of relationships, emotional intelligence, self control and even genetics.
The causes of stress are several, and they differ from person to person. Something that’s stressful to you may not faze others. The pressure and situations that cause stress are known as stressors. Stressors can literally be anything starting from an exhausting work schedule, financial problems and even rocky relationships. However, the main cause of stress always depends on the perception towards it. Some of the common external factors that cause stress are – family and children, work, financial problems, relationships, being busy and even major life changes. Stress can many times be self generated and there are various internal factors responsible for it like lack of assertiveness, inferiority complex, inability to accept certainty, pessimism, negative talk, unrealistic expectations and many others.
Though stress is totally unavoidable and damaging, there are many small things, which can help us to reduce its impact and also cope with its symptoms and effects. There are some easy tips, which can help you conquer stress:
